A rare and extremely collectable mid-sized 17th century silver porringer and cover. The lower section of the body is beautifully decorated with acanthus leaf hand chasing and the upper section is plain formed for decorative contrast. The detachable domed lid has additional acanthus leaf hand chasing and is crowned with a delightful finial. The centre front has a beautiful contemporary armorial for importance.
