Pair Magnificent Silver Irish Cups Circa 1735

Description

An extremely rare pair of Irish silver cups with detachable covers.  The body of the cups have elegant rococo applied strap work for highlights.  The cups have a very impressive double cartouche and sits on a circular foot.  The lids of the cups also have applied rococo strap work and is crowned with an elegant acorn finial.  Absolute beauties!

Weight:  53 troy ounces/1652 grams

Height:  8.5 inches/21.5cm (foot to top of finial)

Height:  5.35 inches/13.5cm (cup)

Width:  7 inches/18cm (back of handle to back of opposite handle)

Condition:  Excellent throughout.  Lids unmarked but contemporary.  No makers mark or date letter.  Please note these cups are completely original and untouched throughout their history.  Occasional you find this with 18th century Irish silver.
