Description

A magnificent piece of Victorian dining silver, this claret jug highlights the mid-19th century passion for nature-inspired design and refined table art.  The vessel features a body of clear blown crystal, wheel-engraved and acid-etched with continuous botanical foliage and delicate blossoms. Above, the sterling silver neck mount is decorated with deep-chased leaf patterns, leading to a sweeping silver handle and a hinged domed cover finished with a textured pineapple finial—a classic Victorian symbol of hospitality. Perfect as a functional centerpiece for serving fine wines or as a standout addition to a collection of antique English silver and art glass.
