Description

A very impressive 19th century soup tureen with an upper and lower tongue border for highlights. The body of the tureen is half fluted with an ornate apron of foliate festoons for decoration above.   The tureen has a double cartouche in which sits an elegant armorial. Above the cartouches sits a ribboned bow and the tureen itself sits on an oval raised pedestal foot. The handles of the tureen are designed as rams heads. The outer edge of the lid of the tureen has an elegant band of engraving and the lid is half fluted and is crowned with a acorn finial.
