Description

This magnificent Edwardian sterling silver gilt three piece garniture suite represents the pinnacle of early 20th century luxury metalwork, exhibiting a masterful blend of late Georgian symmetry and Neoclassical revival ornamentation.  Each vessel is meticulously engineered with a classic bell shaped body rising from an ornate tiered pedestal base.  The exterior surfaces showcase breathtakingly crisp repousse and chased workmanship, featuring delicate floral swags, olive garlands and draped ribbons that embody the timeless elegance of the Neoclassical design.  Central to each urn is a beautifully framed oval cartouche.  The bodies are flanked by sweeping, double-scroll acanthus handles that balance structural integrity with, graceful, fluid contours.   The sublime finials and covers are crowned by a highly tactile, sculpted pine cone finials nestled inside acanthus leaf calyxes – a traditional symbol of hospitality, celebration and architectural refinement.
