Description
A distinguished and remarkably well aged George II sterling silver coffee pot, exhibiting the supreme craft and proportions of early to mid-18th century English silversmithing. Defined by its classical conical form, this piece combines structural restraint with refined period embellishment-featuring intricate flat chased Rococo borders, and an original hand engraved armorial crest, and hardwood scroll handle. The ornamentation is flawlessly detailed with hand chased Rococo scroll work, foliate motifs and delicate diaper-work/lattice engraving along both the rim and the bases bands.
