A wonderful late Georgian Old Sheffield Plate cheese dish circa 1820.

 

Description

A wonderful early 19th century Old Sheffield plate rectangular cheese dish decorated with a delightful gadroon and floral applied border.  The silver shielded lid is hinged and the under serving dish has elegant tinning.

 

Height:  3 inches/7.62cm (foot to top finial)

Length:  9.5 inches/24cm

Width:  7 inches/17.7cm

Depth:  13.3 inches/34cm (front of dish to back of handle)
