Description
A very important early 18th century fluted circular montieth bowl with removable rim. The bowl has a double cartouche (armorial & crest) with lion mask drop ring handles for decoration. The bowl sits on a raised pedestal circular foot. The rim of the bowl is decorated with cherubs with splashing of floral engraving on matt a background.

Apprenticed to William Browne Citizen and Haberdasher of London 26 May 1665. Â Free of the Haberdashers Company 7 June 1672. Â Mark entered as large worker undated probably on commencement of register April 1697. Â Signatory to the petition to the Goldsmiths Company against marking of foreigners work and extending the freedom to several Frenchmen 1 October 1703. Â Described as ‘Capt. Isaac Dighton goldsmiths’ in the register of his burial 28th February 1707.
